Look from a different perspective. Evaporate a city…

We all love NYC, don’t we. I do. It is vibrant, cosmopolitan, exciting, always awake, and many more attributes we could list up here. NYC with Manhatta as its central, and with the Central Park at its heart is a great example how nice and generous a city as expensive as NYC can be designed. Nobody considers to cancel the park and develop the property for more skyscrapers. at least, not until now.

However, have you ever thought about the opposite? We are happy of having a great park right in the middle of such a great city, although financially it is absolutely not viable. Folks at the urban movement of the Guggenheim BMW lab, which is these days in NYC, have come up with an utopia for the city. Why be satisfied with that amount of park? Why not flip the picture?

Imagine NYC as shown in the picture consisting of parks and green space and having only a limited set of building in the middle, surrounded by the green, leveraging all shore line and creating a whole new city experience…

Looking from a different perspective is always a good thing to do. It may not be realized, but at least we know what we have, what we could have and how precious it is to protect at least what we achieved so far and strive for even better…
